Each participant will be able to undergo a comprehensive health screening and receive 2,000 hryvnias of non-cash support for this.
As the press service of the Ministry of Health reported in response to UNIAN’s request, the amount of 10 billion hryvnias is provided for the financing of the health screening program.
Every person after reaching the age of 40 will receive a notification in the “Action” application exactly 30 days after the birthday. The message will include an offer to undergo a health screening.
After confirmation of participation, UAH 2,000 will be automatically credited to the special “Diya.Card”, which can be used only to pay for screening in medical facilities included in the list of the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSHU). It is noted that these can be both state clinics and private or communal ones. Next, the person is enrolled in the selected health care institution, regardless of the place of residence or registration.
The examination will take place within one visit – lasting 60-90 minutes. After completion of the service, the “Diya.Card” is paid directly at the medical facility.
At the same time, another option is provided for those who do not use “Diya”. You can issue a plastic bank card, submit an application to the Central Bank of Ukraine, receive a notification about the transfer of funds within a week, and pass the same screening as users of the application.
What is included in free waitingThe Ministry of Health emphasizes that the package is based on evidence-based medicine. It includes:
- physical examination – measurement of blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, waist circumference, calculation of mass index;
- lifestyle surveys and symptom screening to identify risks for relevant diseases;
- laboratory tests, in particular lipidogram, glycated hemoglobin, as well as, as indicated, electrolytes, serum creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate, urine albumin/urine creatinine ratio;
- mental health assessment – a short questionnaire to determine the level of stress and anxiety;
- doctor’s consultation on the assessment of the risks of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and the formation of personalized recommendations.
After receiving the results, the doctor provides the patient with personal recommendations on further actions to maintain or improve health.
Why launch the programThe Ministry of Health emphasizes that it is after 40 years that the risks of developing chronic diseases increase sharply. The goal of the program is aimed at early detection of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and mental health problems. It is especially designed for those who usually do not consult a doctor, do not monitor their blood pressure or sugar level, and do not suspect their own risks.
National screening is not limited to tests. If risks or deviations are detected during the examination, the person will be immediately referred to the appropriate specialist, and the system will monitor the implementation of this route.
In addition, during the health screening, doctors will be able to immediately prescribe the necessary drugs to patients. Patients will be able to receive such medicines free of charge or with a partial co-payment by e-prescription.
