The Ministry of Health notes that the main change concerns the introduction of a one-time free vaccination against HPV (human papillomavirus) for girls aged 12-13 years – for this, the most modern 9-valent vaccine has already been purchased.
“There is also a change in the vaccination scheme against viral hepatitis B: vaccination will be carried out at 2-4-6-18 months. Such a scheme will allow the use of modern combined vaccines against several infectious diseases at the same time (AKDP+Hib+HBV), which will reduce the number of injections for a child and the number of visits to a medical facility. Currently, vaccination against viral hepatitis B is carried out separately according to the scheme: on the 1st day, and then at 2 and 6 months,” the message reads.
In 2026 BCG vaccination – against tuberculosis – will be carried out 24 hours after the birth of a child, and not on the 3-5th day of life, the ministry adds.
Children in Ukraine receive free vaccinations against the 10 most dangerous infections. Vaccination is provided at the primary level as part of a declaration with a doctor. According to the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of 2025, children in Ukraine have already received almost 2 million vaccinations.
