President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that after discussions with US representatives, the peace plan proposed by Washington for Ukraine began to look more acceptable. At the same time, according to him, the most difficult element of the document remains the resolution of the territorial issue.
This was stated by the head of state during a press briefing together with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Zelensky noted that the discussion of the “peace plan” proposed by the US is “a process, it is not over yet.”
“I will say frankly, the territorial issue is the most difficult. The issue of recovery money is, in my opinion, not easy and difficult without the presence of European partners, because the money is in Europe. I think it is not very fair. And the issue of security guarantees, which is very important, specifically from the United States of America, specifically from Europe,” the president said.
“That is, I would say that these are three main topics, highways and at the same time triggers. And here we have to be very careful,” Zelenskyy added.
The head of state also thanked the negotiating groups of Ukraine, adding that “the plan has become better.”
According to Zelensky, negotiations with the US are ongoing, Washington has already shared its vision with Ukrainian government officials and now wants to discuss the same topic with Moscow.
