However, he added that corruption in Ukraine “does not contribute” to this, commenting on the resignation of the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak.
According to Trump, the negotiations “are continuing and progressing well. We want to stop the killing of people.”
He said he spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff after their talks with Ukrainian officials on Sunday.
“I’ve talked to them and they’re doing a good job. Ukraine has some difficult issues, but I think Russia would like to see it end,” Trump said during a trip from Florida to Washington.
When asked to clarify what these “complex problems” are, Trump pointed to “a situation with corruption that does not contribute to solving the problem.”
