“Putin is also ready, under certain conditions, to accept a cease-fire and a comprehensive peace agreement. This has been conveyed to the Ukrainian side, and we are involved in some aspects of this process. This war is also very expensive for Russia,” the minister said.
He emphasized that a potential peace agreement should contain clear commitments by the parties not to attack each other “under any circumstances.”
Direct speech: “If it is possible to agree on this issue, then it is possible to ensure peace in the region for 50, 60, 70 years. Maybe even longer.”
Details: At the same time, according to him, the peace agreement does not mean giving up one’s own security measures.
“Neither the Europeans nor the Russians will do this, on the contrary – they will continue to prepare for various scenarios. NATO will also do this. Time will tell how sustainable the peace will be. However, Russia will also bear economic and social losses and will benefit from the agreement,” Fidan said.
What preceded: The media previously wrote that Qatar and Turkey participated in the development of the new “peace plan” of the United States to end the war in Ukraine and support the mediation efforts of the United States.
