On Saturday evening in the city of Stockton (California, USA), a mass shooting occurred during a children’s birthday party, as a result of which four people were killed and 14 others were injured in various degrees of severity.

Details: According to law enforcement officers, the shooting was reported around 6:00 p.m. local time. The incident happened on the territory of the banquet hall in the shopping center, where the celebration was taking place at the time.

“Preliminary indications are that this may have been a targeted incident,” Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Heather Brent said.

Sheriff’s deputies who responded to the call confirmed to reporters that 14 people had received gunshot wounds. Four of them died. According to Brent, the victims of the shooting include both adults and children.

So far, the law enforcement officers have not provided detailed information about the current condition of the victims. Investigative teams and criminologists continue to work at the scene.
