“I also urge everyone here in Germany not to criticize the USA,” said the Ukrainian diplomat on the Maibrit Illner program on the ZDF TV channel.
The publication notes that Ukraine needs the United States to achieve peace in the negotiation process that has recently begun.
“Ukraine does not need mediators, but allies who sit at the same table with us,” Makeev emphasized.
At the same time, the ambassador of Ukraine highly appreciated Germany’s actions aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine. It is indicated that the country plays a leading role in Europe, which was clearly demonstrated by Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said it could become “the basis for future agreements.” At the same time, the publication notes that the head of the Kremlin demands, within the framework of a possible cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of Ukraine from the territories claimed by Russia.
Negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine are ongoing. Citing information from the Ukrainian government, the publication reports that US Secretary of State for Defense Dan Driscoll is scheduled to visit Kyiv this week, while Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to Moscow next week.
