In the “I’m curious” podcast, Gennady took a hard walk on Potap. In particular, he noted that he does not understand his current position and behavior:
“I consider it a very rotten act when he shouted there that he signed up for the TRO. Which TRO? What did you do there? Well, this is very wrong. I know that he continues to cooperate with Russian artists, sings Russian-language content, speaks in Russian and does not say anything about Ukraine.”
Despite the difference of opinion with Potap, Viter keeps in touch with the Kamenskys, with whom he baptized the son of a mutual friend. However, according to him, they call extremely rarely.
He also added that he was greatly outraged by NK’s recent act at a concert in Chicago, where she performed a Russian-language program. According to Gennady, even if the artist has songs in Russian in her repertoire, she should communicate with the audience in Ukrainian.
“We saw an unfortunate moment in the States. He really outraged me too, and she knows my opinion. As I say, you can sing songs the way you want. I’m very calm about it, but communicate with the audience exclusively in Ukrainian. This is very important now, because it’s exactly what identifies you as a Ukrainian. You don’t need to switch to another language, especially the language of the aggressor,” he said.
According to the producer, Nastya, being abroad, does not understand all the problems that Ukrainians are currently facing. Also, in his opinion, the singer could have fallen into the wrong environment.
“When she is outside of Ukraine, she cannot feel what is happening here… We understand that when a person is surrounded by people who have different opinions, she willy-nilly also join them. Of course, I love her, of course I will always protect her, because for me she is not an outsider,” Viter emphasized.
