The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) is conducting more than ten criminal proceedings regarding possible abuses during the construction of fortifications.
NABU head Semyon Krivonos announced this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-corruption Policy, reports Ukrinform.
Kryvonos confirmed that NABU is investigating the case of possible abuse during the construction of fortifications by the Poltava OVA in Donetsk region, when it was headed by Philip Pronin (now the head of the State Financial Monitoring). This matter was previously actively discussed in the media.
“We have a number of criminal proceedings regarding abuses in the construction of fortifications,” said the head of NABU.
Regarding the case of Poltava OVA:

“We conducted a number of searches. I cannot provide additional comments due to the secrecy of the pre-trial investigation,” Kryvonos emphasized.

He added that NABU will conduct examinations to calculate the possible potential amount of damages. “It’s too early to say anything about it now,” Kryvonos said.
The head of NABU informed that there are currently more than 10 criminal proceedings regarding the abuse of fortifications in other regions, not only in Poltava.
Previously, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak published an investigation, which states that in 2024, for 372 million UAH, Poltava OVA built poor-quality fortifications in Donetsk region, as a result of which Ukrainian positions were lost.
Also, NABU Director Semyon Krivonos criticized the Financial Monitoring Service for not reacting to the $100 million money laundering scheme.
