Details: Most Trump voters continue to blame Vladimir Putin for the failure of efforts to negotiate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

However, only 16% of respondents support Russia’s position that Ukraine should give it more territory to end the war. 46% support Ukraine’s position on this issue, 39% have a neutral attitude or are undecided.

In general, Trump voters want Putin’s war to end. However, among those who were not entirely satisfied with the administration’s progress toward fulfilling Donald Trump’s campaign promise to “work to end the war in Ukraine,” nearly half (46%) said that a tougher stance on Russia — through sanctions, tariffs or other forms of pressure — would make them more favorable about Trump’s approach.

After President Trump announced the expansion of sanctions against Lukoil and Rosneft in late October, 76% of respondents said they supported sanctions against Russian energy exports. This indicator has remained stable since June 2025.

72% of Trump voters believe that the US should generally help Ukraine and hold Russia accountable for Putin’s aggression. More than half of this group specifically supports moves such as handing over U.S. intelligence to Ukraine or selling Tomahawk missiles so Ukraine can strike targets inside Russia.

83% of those polled want to at least maintain American commitments in Europe, particularly to Ukraine and NATO, and only 15% are in favor of ending support for Ukraine altogether.

It will be recalled that the heads of the foreign affairs committees in the parliaments of 20 European countries made a joint statement warning against such peace conditions that would be a reward for Russia for the unleashed war.

Read in more detail why Ukraine considers the “peace talks” with the USA a victory and what was agreed upon.
