Details: The European Union notes progress in peace negotiations and is ready to participate in solving all problematic issues – together with Ukraine, the United States and NATO.

“The President of the European Commission (Ursula von der Leyen. – “EP”) and I have just concluded a meeting of 27 European leaders and summed up the latest events regarding efforts to achieve peace for Ukraine. A new momentum has appeared in the peace negotiations. Yesterday’s meeting in Geneva between the United States, Ukraine, European Union institutions and European representatives marked significant progress,” Koshta said.

He said that, according to information from the United States and Ukraine, the discussions in Geneva “were constructive and that progress was achieved on several issues.”

“We welcome this step forward. Some issues still remain to be resolved, but the direction is positive, and we highly appreciate the efforts of Presidents Zelenskyi and Trump and their teams,” the President of the European Council emphasized.

“Now it is important to move forward as partners united by our common goal. To stop this war, to stop killing people and to stop this war of aggression against Ukraine and to ensure a just and lasting peace for the Ukrainian people,” he added.

As “European Truth” reported, to the informal EU summit on peace in Ukraine in Angola ten leaders of the EU states, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, arrived.

Before the meeting Antonio Koshta had a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, “to find out his assessment of the situation.”

Notably, European leaders raised concerns about the 28-point plan after handing it to Kyiv last week before drafting their own. And after the talks in Geneva, which took place on Sunday, November 23, the United States and Ukraine announced that they had developed “updated” document about peace
