European authorities oppose key points of Trump’s so-called peace plan.
Sijarto said that Europe should accept Trump’s plan for Ukraine / UNIAN photoThe US “peace plan” is an important opportunity to end the war in Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Petr Sijarto, quoted by The Telegraph.
He also stated that every European politician is “obliged to fully and unconditionally support this plan,” the publication notes.
At the same time, journalists note that the European allies opposed the key points of the plan, which was developed by the USA and Russia. In particular, this concerns territorial concessions, limitations of the armed forces of Ukraine and the future security of the country.
Peace talks: important newsEarlier, US President Donald Trump urged not to believe in significant progress between the Russian Federation and Ukraine until there is a final result. At the same time, he noted that “perhaps something good is happening.”
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukraine is at a “critical moment” amid the negotiations. He also added that there is currently a lot of political pressure on Kyiv. He noted that during the negotiations, Ukraine coordinated a number of steps with the United States that allow extremely important issues to be kept on the negotiating table. In particular, this concerns the exchange of prisoners and civilians.
