According to the agency, what came to be called the “peace plan” was developed in October during a meeting between the special representative of the US president Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and Russian Kirill Dmitriev.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the U.S. President himself were not aware of the existence of this plan until the end, but he, according to Bloomberg, approved the “peace plan” when he got acquainted with it.

Against this background, the role of US Vice President J.D. Vance in resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine has increased, Bloomberg interlocutors reported.

Among other things, Vance has long maintained friendly relations with US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, who in recent days has become a “new mediator” in communication with the European side regarding Ukraine, according to the material.

According to Bloomberg, Driscoll is in constant contact with Witkoff and Vance, and Vance’s deputy national security adviser, Andy Baker, is actively involved in the negotiations.

What preceded: US President Donald Trump said on November 22 that his current peace plan for Ukraine is not a final proposal.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following the results of the first negotiations in Geneva, said that the proposals of the US “peace plan” can take into account the “critically important” positions of Ukraine.
