– Our most critical problems are, as always, finances. We spoke with President Artur Vitkovskis today. That year was very difficult for us.
We have a huge number of competitions, and almost all training sessions were held abroad. Why abroad – I think it is clear to everyone. Men, for whatever reason, did not want to go here, could not. And for the women, we have a Polish coach and his entire team – and they didn’t really want it either.
And the budget was set at the beginning in the Ministry, taking into account our prices, not Polish and foreign prices, and we ate our budget. If it weren’t for the support of the Epicenter company, we would have gone with the sack a long time ago, as I said at the congress. But we want more support, because we still owe a lot for the past year.
Mr. Roko Sikirich promised that there will be support in the future. Basically, this is a financial component. And this is how people work, players train, our coaches are great – both our own and foreign ones. Young people, you see on the example of the academy, are beautiful.
And, of course, war. Thousands, tens of thousands of our children have gone abroad. We understand that many of them will probably not return.
Our Kateryna Bilyachenko works 24 hours a day, because certificates are constantly being demanded from abroad, whether this player was registered in Ukraine or not.

If he was played somewhere – in a children’s league or in another – we give a certificate that he or she has the right to play abroad, but a transfer must be processed, otherwise they become foreigners, so to speak. These are the problems of preserving the gene pool. And we always had talents.
