“Ukrzaliznytsia” received new equipment for trackmen and power engineers as part of the program of modernization and mechanization of infrastructure units. The new batch of equipment, a large part of which is Ukrainian-made, will enable railway workers to restore the infrastructure, which is constantly suffering from enemy attacks, faster, more efficiently and, most importantly, safer.
This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
The Cabinet of Ministers launched a centralized system three-year program for updating the infrastructural economy of UZ in the summer of this year. Oleksiy Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and the Minister of Community and Territorial Development, noted that this has already had an effect both in terms of the quality of the equipment and the purchase price.
Rail workers received more than a thousand units of small mechanization: rail cutters, rail drilling machines, electric sleepers, nut drivers, brush cutters and other equipment. A significant part of this equipment is manufactured in Ukraine, in particular in Kharkiv and Dnipro.
Ukrzaliznytsia was also given 20 new hopper-dosers built at the company’s own facilities. Another 30 will be built by the end of the year. This fleet upgrade will speed up track restoration, major repairs and new construction. Previously, such special freight cars, designed for the transportation and controlled unloading of bulk materials, were only Russian-made, and now they are manufactured in Ukraine.
In addition, UZ power engineers received a new telescopic truck lift that will help quickly restore high-voltage overhead lines after enemy attacks. Tractors with mulchers were also transferred for clearing the right-of-way. Everything is Ukrainian-made.
Deputy Minister Oleksiy Balesta emphasized that the infrastructure is strategic for the state, and traffic and safety depend on the speed of its restoration. He added that it is necessary to facilitate the work of railway workers and energy workers and provide them with modern equipment.
As a result of shelling in the Kharkiv region, which caused damage to the railway infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia partially changed the route of trains #227 Barvinkove — Ivano-Frankivsk and #102 Kherson — periwinkle .
Russia also attacked the railway infrastructure of the Dnipro and Kharkiv regions.
