The purpose of the negotiations is to agree on the wording before the meeting of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, with the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
A meeting between the delegation of the Russian Federation and the USA to discuss the proposed “peace plan” is also planned and “will take place quickly”, the official said, but not in Geneva. He refused to specify where and when this meeting will take place.
What preceded: President Volodymyr Zelenskyi previously issued a decree approving a delegation of senior Ukrainian officials for negotiations regarding the Trump team’s “peace plan”; it will be headed by the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak.
Before that, Rustem Umerov announced consultations with the US in Switzerland regarding the “peace plan” of Trump’s team.
