They noted that the initial draft of the 28-point plan includes important elements that will be necessary to achieve a just and lasting peace.

Details: The leaders reiterated the principle that borders should not be changed by force, and expressed concern about proposed restrictions on Ukraine’s armed forces, which would leave Ukraine vulnerable to future attacks.
“We emphasize once again that the implementation of the elements that concern the European Union and NATO will require the consent of the EU and NATO members, respectively,” the leaders added.
“We use this opportunity to emphasize the strength of our continued support for Ukraine. We will continue to closely coordinate our actions with Ukraine and the United States in the coming days,” the statement said.
The statement was approved by the presidents of the European Commission and the European Council, the leaders of Canada, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Great Britain, Germany and Norway.
