In the Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 5 “Oriana” during a geography lesson, the teacher called the student “cattle” when he asked to speak Ukrainian. The incident occurred when the teacher spoke to the class in Russian, despite the state requirement to use Ukrainian in the educational process.
This is reported by “Molody Bukovynets”.
The video of the lesson was published on the Telegram channel, after which the city management reacted to the incident.
“The twelfth year of the war… The teacher, the pedagogue, the one who should bring light and truth to the children… When the student asks to speak in Ukrainian, she calls him “cattle”! … I don’t know how the parents reacted to this, but I am convinced that such “teachers” cannot work in a Ukrainian school,” said Iryna Tkachuk, head of the Chernivtsi education department.
She added that if the teacher has even a drop of dignity or conscience left, she should leave the institution voluntarily today, without waiting for dismissal.
In addition, the head of the regional branch of the State Service for the Quality of Education in the Chernivtsi region, Oksana Paliychuk, reacted to the scandal.
“Here the position can only be unambiguous – dismissal!”, she emphasized, drawing attention to the violation of the laws of Ukraine “On the functioning of the state language” and “On education” (Article 7, which provides for the state language of instruction).
Earlier, the Russians appointed a new “chairman of the Council of Deputies” in the temporarily occupied Golia Prystan of the Kherson region. She became a 38-year-old collaborator Lyudmila Cheban. She is a former teacher of Ukrainian language and literature.
