Mane explained why he clashed with Salah in Liverpool

Senegalese winger Sadio Mane told about relations with Mohamed Salah during performances for Liverpool. Sadio praised the Egyptian and explained why they clashed.

Mohamed Salah is a great football player. Usually everyone says that there was a rivalry between us. But I don’t think that this rivalry was in a negative way.

Mo is a very nice guy. I think when we were on the field you could see that sometimes he would pass to me and sometimes he wouldn’t. We had only Bobby Firmino in the attack, who loved to share the ball.

I still remember one game when I was really angry with Salah because he didn’t pass me when he should have done it in that episode. It was a match against Burnley (in the season in the 2019/20 season, – ed.). The next day, Mo approached me. He wanted to talk to me, but he didn’t know when or how to do it.

He still thought I was mad at him because we didn’t see each other after the game and went home. And then he approached me and asked if we could talk alone.

Salah said: “Sadio, do you think I didn’t want to pass you? When I got the ball, I didn’t think or even see how to give you a pass. I just got the ball and I wanted to shoot. But I have nothing against you. Honestly, if I can give you a pass next time, I will.”

I replied that it was all in the past and I was angry because I know how good he can make passes on me. That’s all. I think we became even closer after that. Sometimes this happens between teammates, because when you are a high-class striker like Mo, you usually only see the ball at your feet and you don’t have much time to look for partners in episodes,” Sadio said.
