Since the beginning of the day, more than half a hundred battles have taken place only in the Pokrovsky direction – the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Since the beginning of the day on November 19, 140 combat clashes took place at the front, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than half a hundred battles were recorded on one Pokrovsky direction of fighting alone.

“In the Pokrovsky direction, the Russian invaders made 52 attempts to dislodge our defenders from their occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Nove Shakhove, Pankivka, Nikanorivka, Chervyn Liman, Rodynske, Myrnograd, Novoeconomichne, Rivne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novopavlivka, Novomykolaivka, Filia, Dachne and in the direction of the settlement of Grishine. The defense forces restrained the onslaught and repelled 48 enemy attacks,” the summary said as of 4:00 p.m.

Fighting also continued in the South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivsk, Oleksandrivsk, Gulyaipilsk, and Orichivsk directions.

As noted on November 14 by the Radio Liberty Donbas.Realii project, Pokrovsk, an important hub of Ukrainian defense in Donetsk region, was on the verge of capture after Russian army troops managed to break through to the city.

Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, who visited the Pokrovsky area, said that there is currently no question of the control of Russian troops over Pokrovsk or the operational encirclement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine group there.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an interview for Bloomberg that “any decision to withdraw troops from the city is a matter for military commanders on the ground.”
