Ukrainian super heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk lost the status of absolute world champion in super heavyweight.

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) reported that it received an official letter from Oleksandr Usyk’s team. After a thorough analysis of the situation, the boxer decided to voluntarily leave his title.

Such a boxer’s decision, exclusively for Sport.uathe Ukrainian promoter explained Oleksandr Krasiuk. The specialist said that the boxer made absolutely the right decision

– Usyk officially refused the fight with Wardley and lost the WBO title. What do you think was the main reason for Alexander’s decision?

– The situation with the WBO title should be looked at in the progression of time. The official contender was supposed to be appointed immediately after the match with Dubois, but Alexander took a break, citing her injury.

The WBO gave the champion the necessary time to recover, and when that time expired, the question arose again – either defend or vacate. So, I believe that Oleksandr did the right thing – the fight with Wardley does not have any meaning: neither sports, nor media, nor commercial, – Oleksandr said.

Previously, the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight title holder (over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (24–0, 15 KOs) talked about his plans and admitted when he intends to end his professional career.
