In Finland, near the border with Russia, military exercises with Polish MLRS have started

One of the most important military exercises this year in Northern Europe – Northern Strike 225 – began near the Finnish city of Rovaniemi.

Details: About 2,200 soldiers and 500 vehicles are taking part in the maneuvers, including Polish artillerymen from the 1st Masurian Artillery Brigade, who brought Homar-K rocket launchers with them.

As noted, this is the first case in history when this modern equipment of the Armed Forces of Poland was transported by air to a foreign training ground.

Northern Strike 225 maneuvers are conducted by a brigade from Finland’s Kainuu, a region located on the border with Russia.

“The aim is to test the firepower of the artillery in cooperation with allies in the difficult conditions of early winter. The Polish unit with high firepower consists of about 40 people,” the Finnish army said.

The training will last until November 25.

For reference: The HOMAR-K launcher is a variant of the South Korean K239 Chunmoo missile system, which is capable of using missiles of various calibers.

Prehistory:

• At the end of October, the largest in the history of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union (LRU) “Black Hawk 2025” training took place in the Lithuanian region of Aukštaitia.
• They also wrote that the “Brave Tiger” military training took place at the Polish training ground in Dravsk, the purpose of which, among other things, was to get acquainted with the work of a field hospital.
• Recently, military medics were trained for the first time in Lithuania with the participation of the Ukrainian organization TacMed Ukraine.
