“I think we will achieve peace before 2027,” Macron replied.
He explained that France, together with its allies, is determined to further increase the pressure on Russia to end the war.
“The Europeans are united with the Americans and they are determined to stand up to Russia. We are working to strengthen our actions against Russia’s “shadow fleet”, Macron said.
He added that, for his part, he is determined to reach a peace agreement.
Macron also admitted that the candidate who will apply for the position of the president of France may be even more decisive in supporting Ukraine. “When faced with reality, reality changes views,” the French leader explained his position.
We will remind, when planning financial assistance to Ukraine for 2026 and 2027, the European Commission currently assumes that the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine may to be completed at the end of 2026.
According to the estimates of the European Commission, Ukraine in 2026 will need external financing in the amount of more than 71 billion euros.
