According to the case materials, the agent turned out to be a 34-year-old resident of Konotop, who came to the attention of the occupiers when she was looking for “easy earnings” in Telegram channels, the report says.
According to the investigation, after the recruitment, the woman bought radio navigation equipment with the money of the Russian special services and tuned it to the “necessary” enemy frequencies. She sought out abandoned buildings, penetrated them and installed radio beacons on the roofs, which allowed the occupiers to bypass the Ukrainian EW system and maintain stable communication for the navigation of drones and missiles.
In addition, the agent sent the curator photos and coordinates of local military units, and near one of the regional airbases, she installed a video trap in the form of a 4G camera with online broadcasting to monitor the flights of combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the consequences of enemy strikes.
The SBU gradually documented her intelligence activities and detained the perpetrator. During the searches, 6 smartphones were seized from her, which she used for conspiratorial communication with the curator. At the same time, special measures were taken to deactivate spying devices and ensure the security of bases of the Defense Forces.
The investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). The perpetrator is in custody without bail, she faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Complex measures were carried out by employees of the Department of Military Counterintelligence and investigators of the SBU in Sumy Oblast under the procedural guidance of the Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the evidence of the Security Service of Ukraine, 15 and 13 years in prison with confiscation of property received two more agents of the Russian Federation. They corrected the enemy’s air attacks on electricity and heat generating enterprises on the territory of Poltava and Sumy regions
