The 34-year-old Sao Paulo player was hospitalized after “cardiac changes” were detected during tests ahead of the 2026 pre-season.
According to the NHS, vasovagal syncope is a common loss of consciousness due to a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate.
The club reported that the examination confirmed the diagnosis, and Oscar himself is in a stable condition in the cardiology department.
On Friday, he will undergo an electrophysiological examination.
Oscar returned to São Paulo in December 2024 after seven years in China and a successful spell at Chelsea, where he won four trophies, including two Premier League titles.
