France named two players who caused Ukraine to burn in Paris

French edition FootMercato after the match France – Ukraine determined Oleksandr Karavaev and Oleksiy Hutsulyak the weakest players in our national team.

According to journalists, Karavaev was tasked with neutralizing Barkola’s activity, but he did not fully cope with this. The Frenchman regularly found free zones for breakthroughs, and in the 40th minute, the Ukrainian full-back almost made a critical mistake, giving the opponent a chance to strike. In general, Karavaev played at a mediocre level: in some places, the lack of discipline and difficulties in controlling his territory were too noticeable, especially after the appearance of Ekitike on the field in the 67th minute.

Hutsuliak, in his turn, remained cut off from his partners in the attack – the connection between Salib and Upamecano effectively deprived him of opportunities ahead. Therefore, he focused mainly on defensive work, often dropping back in the first half to help the team. After the break, he became even less visible and was unable to significantly influence the game.

On November 13, the Ukrainian national team played an away match of the 2026 World Cup qualification in Group D against the French team. The meeting took place at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, the capital of France. The match ended with a score of 4:0 in favor of the hosts.
