The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed Decree No. 846/2025 on the appointment of Valentyn Ostryzhny to the position of Deputy Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine.
“To appoint Valentin Viktorovych Ostryzhny as deputy commander of the National Guard of Ukraine,” the document states.
Colonel Valentyn Ostryzhny met the beginning of a full-scale invasion as part of the “Omega” special forces unit, and later became the temporary acting deputy commander of the NGU for personnel work. He is responsible for a wide range of areas: from the social adaptation of military personnel and the meeting of prisoners of war to the work of psychologists and the organization of chaplain services.
Earlier, Ostryzhniy emphasized that the National Guard is doing everything possible to return the missing and prisoners of war: “We are always in touch and ready to provide answers to any questions.”

On October 15, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed an order on the appointment of Serhiy Lysak as the head of the newly created Odesa City Military administration . Vladyslav Haivanenko will temporarily take his place in the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
