Well-known journalist and commentator Viktor Watsko believes that if Shakhtar does not win the UPL title this season, club president Rinat Akhmetov will fire many managers.
“The main thing for Shakhtar this season is the championship of Ukraine. This is sacred, and after the relegation from the Ukrainian Cup, the championship remains the only real trophy. I don’t think Shakhtar will win the Conference League.”
“It will be a shame for Shakhtar not to win the UPL, taking into account the investment in transfers, and specific people will be responsible for this shame before the president of the club, and they know it.”
“And the Conference League will be a walk-through tournament,” Watzko said.
In the UPL, Shakhtar leads, ahead of LNZ and Polissia by four points and Dynamo by 7 points.
