According to him, the restrictions apply not only in Ulyanovsk, but also throughout Russia – in areas located near special purpose facilities.
It is noted that last week the federal center expanded the so-called “security zones” around such objects. According to Jagfarov, this permanent restrictionsrather than temporary measures introduced during attacks.
Residential blocks, office buildings and social institutions also fell into the blackout zones.
Local edition “Ulpravda” reports that mobile internet has been unavailable in several districts of Ulyanovsk and other settlements of the region for more than a week. Exact maps of blackout zones are not made public “for reasons of state secrecy.”
As Yagfarov explained, the validity period of the restrictions has not been established. They will act while the so-called “special military operation” continueswhich the Kremlin calls its invasion of Ukraine.
According to Novaya Gazeta. Evropa, this is the first case in Russia when the mobile Internet is completely turned off for an indefinite period.
