What preceded:
- November 10 interlocutors of the UP in law enforcement agencies reported that detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau are conducting searches of the Minister of Justice Herman Galushchenko, who previously held the position of Minister of Energy.
- People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported earlier about the searches of Galushchenko and Energoatom.
- Later, NABU confirmed that, together with SAP, they are conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector. According to anti-corruption experts, the participants in the investigation built a large-scale corruption scheme to influence strategic enterprises of the state sector, in particular JSC NAEK Energoatom.
- The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office released part of the audio recordings from the investigation of a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector. The operation is codenamed “Midas”.
- “Energoatom” JSC confirmed that on November 10, the company’s office was being investigated by representatives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
- In his evening address, Zelenskyy stated in general terms that he supports the NABU and SAP investigation into corruption in the energy sector, which also includes his associate, but did not name any names.
