Former world champion Sean Porter told how he won Oleksandr Usyk in amateur boxing.
“We fought when we were 20 years old. It was a different level – amateur boxing, where everything was decided by points and speed. I was aggressive, I knew how to close the distance, and that helped me. Usyk was not yet the champion he is now,” the fighter recalled.
“Later, we met with Usyk in Saudi Arabia, and he showed him respect. I just patted him on the shoulder and he stood up and said hello. It was nice – it is clear that he remembers and treats him with respect,” said the ex-champion.
It should be noted that Porter defeated Usyk in amateurs in December 2006.
