According to the correspondent of UNIAN, this was stated by the Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk during the briefing.
“The basic scenario – we can talk about the situation that exists today,” the minister noted, adding that the situation in the power system could potentially worsen as a result of another enemy shelling.
Svitlana Grynchuk reminded that the power cut is a forced measure applied due to a shortage of electricity.
“We are working with a deficit. In order to balance the system, blackout schedules are used. They have already decreased. We are working to minimize them,” the minister noted
She also informed that restoration work has begun at the Trypil and Zmiyiv TPPs, which were informed by “Tsentrenergo” about the cessation of generation due to enemy shelling.
Attacks of the Russian Federation on the energy systemSince the beginning of autumn, the Russian Federation has intensified its attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. In particular, on the night of November 8, the enemy massively attacked energy facilities with missiles and drones. As a result of the attack, destruction was recorded, there were victims, and emergency shutdowns were implemented. As a result of the impact, in particular, a fire broke out at one of the power facilities in Odesa.
According to Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk, as a result of the latest attack, the Khmelnytsky and Rivne NPPs were forced to reduce electricity production.
Due to enemy attacks, strict hourly blackout schedules have been implemented in most regions of Ukraine.
