Lukashenko said that Minsk will hold talks with the US delegation in the near future

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said at a meeting with the government on Monday that talks between the official Minsk and the US delegation will take place in the near future.

Lukashenko’s direct speech: “We probably carry almost nothing across this border due to sanctions. Only some types of goods that are very, very necessary for the same Lithuanians or Poles. Very, very necessary – we ordered, we took it. If we didn’t order – we don’t take it there. And with the Kazakhs, Russians, Chinese, other countries, they will have to seriously not just get along, but deal with it. Because no one does that.

We will talk about everything else in the near future during negotiations with the delegation of the United States of America. I feel that we couldn’t do without them here.”

• The other day it was reported that US President Donald Trump nominated the “most outstanding lawyer” of the US, John Cole, to the post of special envoy to Belarus.
• In recent weeks, the administration of Donald Trump has been trying to establish contact with the regime in Minsk, as evidenced by the release of Belarusian political prisoners.
• As part of these efforts, the US lifted sanctions on the Belarusian state airline Belavia.
• Also on Tuesday, November 4, the US Treasury Department eased some sanctions against Belarus, lifting measures against the national airline and allowing operations related to Lukashenka’s plane.
