According to the press secretary of Engie Ellen Smits, these drones did not affect the operation of the station. “Relevant agencies continue to monitor the situation,” she added.
The Scheldevaas police district said it did not wish to comment.
In addition, air traffic at Liege airport was disrupted on Sunday after drones were spotted, according to air traffic management company Skeyes. As confirmed by Christian Delcourt, head of public relations at Liège airport, traffic was suspended after the first sighting of the drone around 7:30 p.m. Later, around 19:45, two more drones were spotted.
Last week, drones were recorded over Liège airport almost every day. Similar disruptions occurred at the Brussels airport on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Over the past few days and weeks, drones have also regularly appeared over various military bases.
The UK, France and Germany will provide personnel and equipment to help Belgium counter drone incursions around sensitive sites.
Belgian intelligence services believe that a foreign power – most likely Russia – is behind a series of recent drone incidents.
