“After the trophy in Athens, Novak decided to withdraw from the ATP Finals”, — write: sport.ua
It became known after the final match at the ATP 250 competition in Greece, in which Novak defeated Lorenzo Musetti in three sets, winning the 101st trophy in his career.
Djokovic himself has not yet made any public statements, but Nole’s refusal was reported by Sky Sport Italia, and Musetti also confirmed it at a press conference.
Novak initially disqualified Lorenzo from the Final because the Italian needed to win the title in Athens. As a result, after Nole’s refusal, both Felix Auger-Aliasim (who qualified by points) and Musetti himself, who will replace Djokovic, will go to Turin.
Djokovic will not play at Pidsumkovo for the second year in a row, although he received a ticket there. Nole, 38, is a seven-time winner of the ATP Finals.
