The head coach of Kryvbas, Patrik van Leeuwen, expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the referees after the defeat against Carpathians (0:1) in the 12th round of the championship of Ukraine.

According to the mentor, the referees influenced the course of the match:

“There was a foul on our players, but VAR didn’t intervene, although it should have. It’s time to raise an important discussion about the level of referees, especially on VAR. I also didn’t like it when the referee laughed with the players. You have to take this kind of work seriously,” said van Leeuwen.

The coach added that the red card for his team’s goalkeeper was a key moment:

“I think it was better to concede a goal and continue playing in the eleven, but the referee made such a decision. We had our moments even in the eleven,” he emphasized.

Regarding the opponent, Patrick van Leeuwen noted:

“I don’t want to say that Carpathians played a super fantastic game. We also had our moments and worked very well, but they won.”

Kryvbas is currently unable to win in three consecutive matches and with 20 points occupies the 5th place in the UPL tournament table.
