Joshua will return to the ring in December to fight in Africa

Former world champion in super heavyweight (over 90.7 kg) Anthony Joshua (28–4, 25 KOs) plans to resume his career in December to fight in Africa. This was reported by BoxingScene.

According to the source, the British boxer will enter the ring on December 20 at the Legon Sports Stadium (Accra, Ghana) in the undercard of the show from the influential promoter Eddie Hearn and his Matchroom company.

Joshua’s opponent is currently unknown, but the ex-heavyweight hegemon is expected to hold a walk-off fight against a boxer who is not included in the rankings of world organizations.

The main event of the show will be a fight in the light heavyweight category (up to 79.4 kg) – Britons Craig Richards (19–4–1, 12 KOs) and Dan Aziz (22–2–1, 14 KOs) will meet in the ring.

According to Hearn, the main task of his charge is to check his form after a long break and “shake off the rust”. The promoter plans to organize a high-profile fight for Joshua in 2026, one of the potential opponents is his compatriot Tyson Fury.
