“Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile and 74 air strikes, used ten missiles, dropped 164 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it carried out 4,923 attacks, including 148 from rocket salvo systems, and involved 6,184 kamikaze drones to destroy them… Yesterday, aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit three areas where the enemy’s personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated,” the morning summary stated.
More than half of the battles took place in the Pokrovsky and neighboring Oleksandrivsky directions in the Donetsk region.
“In the Pokrovsky direction, our defenders stopped 62 attacks by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Fedorivka, Nikanorivka, Chervyn Liman, Rodynske, Chervyn Yar, Grodivka, Dachenske, Novogrodivka, Myrnograd, Pokrovsk, Pischane, Zvirove, Kotlyna, Udachne, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Filia, Novoeconomichne and in the direction of the settlements of Novopavlivka and Kucheriv Yar.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 32 enemy assaults in the areas of the settlements of Verbove, Sichneve, Orestopol, Pavlivka, Novogrigorivka, Novovasylivske, Rybne, Novomykolaivka and in the direction of Yegorivka and Ternuvaty,” the message states.
Battles also continued in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk, South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynovsky and Dnieper directions.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declared on November 5 that the defense of the Pokrovsko-Myrnograd agglomeration continues, and “there is no encirclement of our units and units.”
Before that, the American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report that Russian troops continue to advance in the Pokrovsky direction and operate “with increasing comfort” inside the city itself. At the same time, Ukrainian troops continue defensive efforts and counterattacks in the Pokrovsky direction, and also liberated a significant part of the territory, where the Russian troops penetrated, in the Dobropilsky direction.
Pokrovsk – a city with a population of about 1,250 people (estimated by the local authorities at the end of October, before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation – more than 60,000) – is an important road and railway junction and was under threat of encirclement by Russian troops for most of the year.
