“Yermak” scheme: in the capital, swindlers “worked in OP” for $100,000

Metropolitan police reported the details of the exposure of a fraudulent scheme involving the namesake of the head of the Office of the President, who presented himself as his cousin and offered employment for management positions in OP for money.

Details: Citizen Yermak assured the victims that he had connections among high-ranking officials in the highest state authorities — the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada.

100,000 dollars – this is the amount the participants valued their “services” for assisting in employment for the position of deputy director of one of the departments of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

For the conspiracy, they changed their voices using a special program when communicating with the victims. In addition, license plates on cars were changed from time to time.

In order to mislead those who want to “get a job”, criminals took money in installments together with a package of necessary documents – education diplomas, certificates of English language proficiency, copies of passports, etc.

In this way, in October of this year, the fraudsters first received $10,000, and later another $5,000. The policemen, documenting the criminal activity in an operational way, detained three members of the group while receiving 50 thousand dollars, the law enforcement officers report.

The actions of the perpetrators are classified under part 5 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud). Police investigators are preparing materials to notify them of suspicion.
