“Preliminarily, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine visited Bishop Filaret at his residence on October 26, 2025 and personally congratulated His Holiness on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his enthronement. Metropolitan Dimitriy of Lviv and Sokal, Metropolitan Serhiy of Donetsk and Mariupol, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Belotserkiv and Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod also took part in the new meeting, which took place in the Metropolitan House,” the message reads.
Epiphanius once again congratulated Philaret on the 30th anniversary of his enthronement. He expressed gratitude for the many years of service in the development of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church and discussed the challenges of Russian aggression and the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The participants of the meeting noted that the use of the Ukrainian language in worship is a cornerstone of its development and affirmation.
Epiphanius emphasized that the achievements of the church have become a solid foundation that no enemies will be able to destroy.
“Thank God that we can communicate like this. It is necessary to show love and constantly thank God for all His blessings,” Filaret emphasized.
In recognition of the merits of Patriarch Filaret in the revival of St. Michael’s Golden-Top Cathedral on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its consecration, he was presented with a thank you from the Primate of the OCU.
