“After the strike by drones on November 2, the Tuapsin seaport employees announced that there were no oil stains in the water area, despite satellite data that recorded an oil spill more than three kilometers long in the Black Sea”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
An oil spill more than three kilometers long was recorded by satellites near the shores of Tuapse, a characteristic trace is visible in the Black Sea in the pictures from November 2. On this day, the port of Tuapse was struck by drones: according to the operational headquarters of the region, an oil tanker caught fire, and two more civilian vessels were damaged.
In his publication, Boyko did not mention official information about the damage to the tanker. “Stains of oil products have not been detected, information from space cameras has not been confirmed,” he said.
At the same time, experts, judging by Boyk’s report, already after the drone attack, cleaned about 300 meters of the coastline between Gisel-Dere and Pivdenny. According to the official, 2.5 cubic meters of pebbles “contaminated with fuel oil” were collected.
Most likely, the head of the Tuapsinsk district was alluding to the fuel oil that got into the Black Sea after the accident on the Volgoneft tankers on December 15, 2024. The areas of the coast in the immediate vicinity of the Kerch Strait were among the affected areas: Temryutsky district and Anapa. Traces of fuel oil in Tuapse, located 175 kilometers from the affected area, were not previously reported. At the same time, the operational headquarters of the region reported on the complete cleaning of the bottom of the Black Sea from fuel oil as early as mid-September.
