After a Russian drone struck an infrastructure facility in the Chernihiv district, several communities were cut off, the district state administration reported.

“Chernihiv district is under enemy attack again! It was recorded that an enemy UAV hit a civil infrastructure object in one of the communities of the district. There is no electricity supply in several communities. As soon as the security situation allows, the relevant services will start restoration work,” said the RDA message on Facebook.

In recent weeks, the Russian military has intensified its shelling of the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies people with gas during the heating season.

On October 30, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine stated that due to Russian attacks there is a serious risk of dangerous consequences for civilians this winter, including long interruptions in heating, electricity and water supply. According to the UN, such interruptions will have a particularly painful effect on vulnerable groups of the population, such as the elderly, persons with disabilities and families with small children.

In August, the Ministry of Energy reported that since March 2025, Russian forces have carried out more than 2,900 attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
