The Center for Disease Control and Prevention emphasizes that there is no specific vaccine against Coxsackie viruses, so the main way of protection is to follow hygiene rules and strengthen immunity.
Tips for prevention:
- Hygiene: Wash your hands regularly with soap, especially before eating and after using the toilet; do not swim in bodies of water that may be contaminated.
- Food and water: Drink only boiled or bottled water; wash vegetables and fruits thoroughly; avoid eating food of questionable origin.
- Immunity: Consume a sufficient amount of vegetables, fruits and protein products; walk in the fresh air every day and follow a sleep schedule.
“When you notice the symptoms of the disease, immediately consult a doctor. Do not engage in self-medication – some drugs can worsen the condition,” the Central Health Service warns.
Coxsackie’s disease manifested by a high temperature (39−40°C39), headache, muscle pain, general weakness, and a characteristic rash that appears on the hands, feet, and mouth. In the mouth, the rash can turn into ulcers, which makes swallowing and eating difficult, and can also be accompanied by sore throat and rhinitis. Intestinal disturbances such as diarrhea and vomiting may also occur.
