The case was opened in 2024 during an investigation into illegal smuggling of people across the border. It turned out that individual employees of the State Security Service regularly traveled abroad under the guise of work.
According to the investigators, Mykhailyshyn traveled at least five times with his family to EU countries, in particular to Hungary, Slovenia, and Italy. One of these “working” visits in 2022 was supposed to be to Prague, but the official allegedly went on a tourist trip with his family.
All these trips were paid for by the state. According to the documents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 58 thousand hryvnias.
