151 combat clashes took place at the front since the beginning of the day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported as of 10:00 p.m. on November 3. More than a third of the Russian assaults were in the Pokrovsky direction.

“In the Pokrovsky direction, the invading units tried to break through our defenses 57 times in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Ivanivka, Nikanorivka, Novoeconomichne, Fedorivka, Nove Shakhove, Myrnograd, Rodynske, Razine, Chervyn Liman, Novopavlivka, Sukhy Yar, Pokrovsk, Grishine, Kotlina, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne. “Three skirmishes are currently ongoing,” the message reads.

In addition, according to the General Staff, combat operations also continued in the Oleksandrovsky, Kostiantynivskyi, Kupyanskyi, Lymanskyi, Slovyanskyi, Gulyaipilskyi, Orihivskyi, Prydniprovskyi, Severno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk, as well as in the South-Slobozhanskyi directions.

“Today, the occupiers launched three missile strikes, using nine missiles, 53 air strikes, and dropped 103 guided air bombs. In addition, the Russians engaged 3,251 kamikaze drones and fired 2,875 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas,” the message reads.

On November 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, based on the results of the Staff of the Supreme Commander, announced that the Pokrovsky direction accounts for about a third of all combat operations on the front, as well as 50% of all uses of air bombs guided by Russian troops.

Before that, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the Ukrainian military is increasing the pressure on the Dobropilsky salient, continuing to liberate and clear the territories, “which forces the enemy to scatter their forces and makes it impossible to concentrate the main efforts in the Pokrovsk region.”

On October 26, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the penetration of Russian troops into Pokrovsk.

Pokrovsk – a city with a population of about 1,260 people (estimated by the local authorities at the end of October, before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation – more than 60 thousand) – is an important road and railway junction and was under threat of encirclement by Russian troops for most of the year.
