The Ministry of Defense, on the instructions of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, has started the preparation of new types of contracts for servicemen and the corresponding changes to the legislation. The main innovation is guaranteed clear terms of service and postponement.
This was reported by the Telegram of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmygal.
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the contracts will be from 1 to 5 years, and for those who sign them for a period of 2 to 5 years, a one-year deferment from mobilization is provided for upon completion of the contract.
The new contracts are also expected to include increased monthly payments, signing bonuses and an expanded social package.
Shmyhal noted that the new contracts are a response to a key demand of the military, their families and society, aimed at ensuring fairness and predictability. After the adoption of legislative changes, contracts will be able to be signed by all defenders who are already part of the army and those who will join it in the future.
The Ministry of Defense also presented an updated military medical doctrine.
