– Evgeny, the ending of the match with “Chernomorets” turned out to be very emotional. How did it look from the bench, where were you at that time?
– It could not be otherwise, because the teams that took first and second place played, it was a very fundamental match. The tension lasted until the last seconds of the meeting. Thanks to the fans for the cool atmosphere in the stands – it was very cool and nice to play.
– In addition to the goal assist, you also scored a goal against Chornomorets. Tell me, thanks to which you personally managed to hold this match so successfully?
– First of all thanks to the whole team. All the guys tried, pressed, constantly put pressure on the opponent. Great teamwork guaranteed us victory. My goal was precisely the result of this pressing – the defender of “Chornomorets” made a mistake, and we took advantage of it. I managed to intercept the ball, break into the Odessa penalty area with it and hit the far corner of the goal.
– How important is this victory over Chornomorets in the long-term strategy of fighting for the highest places in the championship?
– Of course, this is a very important victory. This was the central game of the entire first round, and thanks to the victory, we managed to increase the gap from our direct competitors. As I know, Ingulets lost points – I want to thank Chernihiv for that.
– “Bukovyna” has a match ahead of it against Zaporizhzhia “Metalurg” – a team that is very close to you, because you played for “Metalurg”. How special will this confrontation, which will take place next Saturday, be for you?
– Yes, Metalurg is my first professional club. I started playing football in Zaporizhzhia, and I am also a pupil of the Metalurga football academy. Therefore, it is always nice to meet with this team, especially since there are many people I know there. I will be glad to see them again.
– Are you following the performances of the Zaporozhye team now?
– Yes, sometimes I watch their matches. Of course, not all, but I watch some fights.
– How can you evaluate the current “Metalurg”?
– It is difficult to say something concrete, but I know that the team will come to Chernivtsi with the desire to score points, because they really need it. So we can’t relax – we have to give all our strength on the field and continue our winning streak.
