“ On Friday, the Bulgarian parliament approved restrictions on the export of oil products to EU countries after the introduction of US sanctions against the Russian company Lukoil. Source: “European Truth” with reference to the Bulgarian news agency BTA Details: At the meeting on Friday, the National Assembly adopted by 135 votes a draft law suspending the export of petroleum products, mainly diesel fuel and aviation fuel, to the member states of the European Union. The ban will not apply to the refueling of domestic or foreign ships and aircraft, as well as supplies to the armed forces of EU and NATO member states. The document was discussed earlier on Friday during an extraordinary meeting of the parliamentary committee on budget and finance. According to the committee’s decision, this measure is due to the need to ensure the energy security of the country and the stability of the domestic fuel market in view of the sanctions recently imposed by the United States against the Russian company Lukoil. In Bulgaria, Lukoil owns the largest oil refinery in the Balkans through its Swiss subsidiary Litasco. Through it, Lukoil controls Lukoil-Bulgaria, one of the country’s leading companies in the field of fuel retail. The chairman of the budget committee of the parliament, Delyan Dobrev, clarified that the ban on the export of oil products is a preventive measure aimed at preventing abuses on the market. We will remind: Earlier, “Lukoil” announced that it would sell its international assets to a Swiss company in response to tough US sanctions. Lukoil announced earlier this week that it would end its international operations after being sanctioned by US President Donald Trump.”, — write: www.pravda.com.ua
