Bulgaria returns to Eurovision / photo WikipediaThe jubilee 70th Eurovision Song Contest is preparing a lot of surprises. Among them are the return of countries that did not participate for several years in a row. In particular, Bulgaria announced its participation next year.
For the past three years, Bulgaria has not been represented at a large-scale song contest, explaining its absence by the country’s financial difficulties. However, it is obvious that the situation has changed for the better. On the official “Eurovision” Instagram page, Bulgaria was congratulated on its return.
In the video, we collected the best moments of Bulgaria at the competition for all the years of participation. The song Poli Genova – If Love Was a Crime, which represented this country in 2016 in Sweden, was playing in the background.
“Welcome Bulgaria! They will join us at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in 2026,” the message reads.
It is worth noting that until its break in 2022, Bulgaria continuously participated in Eurovision, starting in 2005, when the competition was held in Kyiv.
By the way, the best result of this country was established precisely in Ukraine, but already after the victory of Jamala in 2016. Then Christian Kostov took second place with the song “Beautiful Mess”, losing only to the Portuguese Salvador Sobral, who eventually won the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with Amar pelos dois.
