The artist has already tried her hand at the competition twice.
Marina Krut is one of the most desired candidates from Ukrainian Eurofans for the role of representative of Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest. The singer already took part in the National Selection, but stopped literally one step away from victory. In the podcast “Sounds!” Marina shared whether she plans to compete in the selection again:
“We’ll keep this a little secret. I don’t want to give a direct answer, but I’ll say that, I think I’m already too traumatized and very vulnerable because of any competitions. I’ve had enough of this in my life. I’ve experienced many such difficult, transformative events in recent years. And I’ll be honest, I’m not sure that I’m ready that I have the resources for another National Selection. And secondly, I don’t see the point in this for me now. It’s like everything is enough for me.”
The artist said that after participating in the 2023 National Election, where she took second place, she went to Spain. Krut took part in a prestigious event, where she met foreign managers. After that, the singer began to actively develop her career abroad.
“After the last National Selection, in which I took part, I went to Spain. A Spaniard of Ukrainian origin called me and invited me to the project. It turned out that at that event there were a lot of bookers from festivals, foreign managers, tour managers, promoters. And I played for them. I just got into the very heart, not knowing where I was going. At that time, I did not think that I would be anyone’s interesting, but it turned out to be interesting. And from that time I started working with American management, or rather, booking agents. That’s why I started working abroad,” the singer explained.
According to Maryna, she has achieved her goal – to work abroad – so now she does not see the need to participate in the competition.
“I think, well, why did I go to Eurovision in the first place, to the National Selection itself? Because I wanted to represent myself abroad. Well, that’s it. Actually, I succeeded. It turns out that I don’t need Eurovision now,” she said.
By the way, the band KAZKA recently admitted whether they applied for participation in the 2026 National Election.
